One could argue that the creation of a photograph, or even a film sequence could be art with its own aura. However, Benjamin's idea of the aura is similar to "you just had to be there". Actors in a film do not perform in front of an audience, that is theatre. The "aura" is not a reproduction of the moment/experience, but the actual physical experience. When you look at something, you experience it, that experience is the "aura"

This doesn't take away the benefits of the film, instead, Benjamin celebrates film and its capability to produce and manufacture an experience, which allows for endless creative opportunities.
